Family support and advice

The "ElternChanceN" project as part of the ESF Plus program aims to reach parents in Neumünster directly and facilitate access to local support services. We offer families a sympathetic ear for their concerns as well as support, help and guidance. Parent support strengthens individual experiences and skills and recognizes parents as experts for their children.

The Mama-Papa-Café takes place on Tuesdays from 8.30 to 10.00 a.m. in the store "Lieblingsstücke", Kieler Straße 49, 24534 Neumünster. Kirsten Claußen supports families in the transition from home to nursery and from nursery to school and helps with registrations, forms and applications.

There is also the Kathi & Bo open family meeting with children's playgroup, which takes place on Wednesdays from 10.00 to 11.30 a.m. in the "Lieblingsstücke" store. Here, families can socialize and talk about child development and education.

If you wish, Early Help can accompany you in your new and exciting phase of life as a parent. A wide range of health, child and youth welfare, pregnancy counseling and early intervention services are available to you. Early help services support you in strengthening your relationship with your child and enjoying wonderful moments together. They offer you advice, information and practical help in everyday life. The service is voluntary, free of charge and confidential. Early help offers the opportunity to make contact with other families, mothers and fathers in similar situations.

Imprisonment brings great challenges for prisoners and their families. In particular, prolonged absence can cause insecurities in relationships, parenting or dealing with relatives. At Neumünster Prison, we offer individual, couple and family psychological counseling as well as a fathers' group. Topics such as relationships, separation, the role of the father and family conflicts are dealt with. After an initial meeting, a joint decision is made as to whether the counseling will take place alone or with family members. All consultations are confidential.

Do you experience your parents arguing frequently or one parent threatening or hitting the other? Or are you affected by violence yourself?

Violence in the family can take many forms - physical, emotional, social, sexual or economic. We offer you a safe place where you can be heard and receive support. Our counseling is free, voluntary and can be anonymous. You decide where and what you want to talk about - at school, at the youth center or with us. We are here for you!

The "Family Center at Anscharforum" of the Diakonie Altholstein is located in the former Anschar parish hall. Various institutions work together here in the buildings at Am Alten Kirchhof 2 - 4, including the family education center, the Anschar daycare center and numerous advice centers for families.
