FGM/C (Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting) refers to a severe traumatic injury to the female external genitalia.

Our counseling center, TABU, in Kiel-Gaarden is the only specialized center in all of Schleswig-Holstein that focuses on female genital cutting and mutilation. As a result, it is often the first point of contact for anyone who needs information and assistance. TABU provides individualized counseling, guidance, and support to affected women and girls, as well as those at risk, and their families; institutions, professionals, and the interested public receive information and peer consultation.
