As part of the AMIF project "Empowerment #WirklichMachen", which ran for three years, women received advice at the specialist unit. Numerous projects and events also took place, many of which were planned and implemented together with the women.
A few streamers, a beautifully laid table, a cinema corner for the children and, of course, a sumptuous buffet ensured a good atmosphere in a small group.
The day coincided with both the Orthodox Christian fasting period and the Ramadan fasting period. To make it possible for everyone to participate, we only started at 4:30 pm, broke the fast (iftar) together at 5:37 pm and had a wealth of vegan dishes on the table, some of which were prepared by us and some by the women themselves.
The participating women expressed their gratitude for the time together and the successful final event. Eating together during Lent was particularly emphasized as something special. And good food is known to lead to good conversations - so we talked about healthy eating, but also about living together and social contacts in Germany.
At the end, we cleaned up together - and even then there was a lot of laughter. An all-round successful evening and a nice conclusion.
The advisory work at the specialist center will now be continued by an advisory tandem. A new project application has already been submitted - so perhaps this is just a temporary farewell. Let's hope so!
