Under the motto "Now we speak!" and supported by numerous creative and empowering program items, it became clear that the title of the symposium is no coincidence, but a clear appeal - let people with a history of migration and flight speak for themselves and listen to them instead of just talking about them. The Minister of Social Affairs, Aminata Touré, and the regional pastor, Heiko Naß, reinforced this call in their welcoming speeches.
In addition to a creative welcome from women from one of the sub-projects, the film "Arrived. Not just a guest!", which was then discussed by the videographer and the protagonists. You can find the trailer for the film HERE!
Melanelle Hémêfa's input provided new and varied impulses. What do migrants need in politically tense times? What is collective care? How do we want to meet each other? How can we strengthen each other? Under the title "Strategies of Survival", she opened up the space for new perspectives on these and other questions - and received a lot of approval for this.
The participants themselves were also given the opportunity to get actively involved: In a total of four workshops, they worked together to lay the foundations for a list of demands with recommendations for action to politicians. The effort was then rewarded with the opening of the buffet and the end of the evening in a relaxed atmosphere.
