"We want to enable everyone to stay informed and participate in social life," says Tanja Maury-Butenschön, annas team leader and district manager in Suchsdorf. "Anyone who is unsure how to use tablets or smartphones can also take part in our training courses and practise their first steps on loaned devices."
In all annas (Suchsdorf, Projensdorf, Wik, Holtenau, Schreventeich/Hasseldieksdamm, Ellerbek/Wellingdorf, Dietrichsdorf), the offer can be used during office hours or by appointment. The cooperation with the district library in Suchsdorf is particularly pleasing. Here, interested parties can borrow tablets during opening hours and read the KN digitally.
Support wanted: tablet donations and volunteers
There are currently two tablets available per anna. Diakonie Altholstein would be delighted to receive tablet donations to expand the service. Volunteer tablet patrons are also needed to accompany the reading at fixed times and facilitate access to the digital newspapers.
"I like reading the Kieler Nachrichten myself and have been active in the annas for a long time - the project is a classic win-win situation for me." This is how one volunteer describes her motivation to get involved. Anyone who would like to donate a tablet or get involved as a volunteer can contact Tanja Maury-Butenschön (0151 41863381) or the local anna directly.
"Our wish is that visitors not only support each other in using the tablets, but also talk about what they have read. Then digital and social participation would complement each other perfectly," emphasizes Marion Janser, Head of Neighbourhood Work at Diakonie Altholstein.
