"We are pursuing three goals with the attraction: labor market policy support, social participation and sustainability. After just one year, we can already see that our concept is working and making an important contribution to the region," says Stephanie Vallentin, Head of Work and Education at Diakonie Altholstein. "Since the beginning, there has been very good and targeted cooperation between all stakeholders - including the city of Rendsburg, the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district job center, volunteer supporters, various advice centers, including the "Rendsburg Ü60" senior citizens' area. As a result, the Rendsburg attraction has established itself as an essential infrastructural component." This cooperation has made it possible to open up new opportunities for people on the job market, while at the same time creating affordable shopping opportunities and returning used goods to the economic cycle. In addition, the attraction offers space for exchange and encounters: from energy and migration advice to handicraft and play groups.
Inken Engel, Head of Work and Education at Diakonie Altholstein, emphasizes: "People seeking advice find support at Anziehungspunkt Rendsburg, donors know that their donations in kind are being put to good use - and the local business community strengthens us with its great solidarity. We are particularly grateful for the great support for our anniversary with around 400 euros in vouchers from over 30 stores."
Cathrin Koschmann, coordinator of the Anziehungspunkt, also emphasizes the importance of the community: "The Anziehungspunkt lives from the people who shape it - from our colleagues to the volunteers to the customers. This togetherness is what makes us special and shows how strong Rendsburg is."
To mark its first anniversary, the Anziehungspunkt invited customers to a thank-you week from September 15 to 19, 2025. Every day, customers could look forward to different discount promotions. On the birthday itself, Wednesday, September 17, there were special highlights: a wheel of fortune with vouchers and small prizes, freshly made popcorn and a 50-euro voucher from the store itself as the main prize.
