About us

Diakonie Altholstein GmbH is a legally independent non-profit organization. Our main shareholder is the church district of Altholstein. We operate inpatient and outpatient care facilities for the elderly as well as a wide range of counseling and educational services in the region between Kiel and Hamburg. We are divided into four business areas: Social Assistance, Work and Education, Family, Senior Citizens and Care and Central Services.

With around 1,500 employees in all companies, Diakonisches Werk Altholstein GmbH is one of the largest employers in the region. The interests of the employees are represented by the employee representatives in accordance with church law.
