Consist Donates to the Schleswig-Holstein Mobile Dental Clinic

(Kiel, July 13, 2026) The IT service provider Consist Software Solutions is supporting the Zahnmobil with a corporate donation of 3,000 euros. The program is operated by the Diakonisches Werk Altholstein in cooperation with the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH) and improves dental care for people in need.

Consist’s donation will go toward funding the drivers of the mobile dental clinic. The drivers do far more than just provide transportation: They are responsible for maintaining the vehicle, coordinating logistics, and ensuring that the scheduled routes are carried out reliably. In addition, they play a particularly important role in interacting with patients. Through their direct contact with the target group, they serve as trusted points of contact and build a bridge between the local community and the treating team at the UKSH.

“Social engagement and corporate responsibility are important to us. That’s why we support various organizations with a regional focus,” explains Jörg Hansen, managing director of Consist Software Solutions GmbH, based in Kiel. The employees of the IT company decide which organization receives the donation through a survey. In recent years, corporate donations from Consist have gone to, among others, the Kiel Network Against Child Poverty, the Kiel chapter of the German Child Protection Association (Deutscher Kinderschutzbund Ortsverband Kiel e. V.), the Kiel Food Bank (Tafel Kiel), and the Kieler Förde Hospice.

About the Schleswig-Holstein Dental Mobile

“The Zahnmobil is of vital importance to the city of Kiel. Many people here are struggling with existential concerns and have simply lost sight of their oral hygiene and dental care. That’s exactly where the Zahnmobil comes in: It breaks down barriers and brings urgent care directly to those in need,” explains Gesa Kitschke, Executive Director of Diakonie Altholstein.

Since its launch in January 2024, the Zahnmobil has firmly established itself in Schleswig-Holstein’s healthcare landscape—with demand on the rise. In 2025 alone, over 900 patients were treated. Currently, the mobile dental clinic serves more than 14 locations in Kiel and throughout Schleswig-Holstein, including various homeless shelters and several state-run refugee accommodations. To ensure broad coverage in Schleswig-Holstein and to be able to add further locations to the schedule, the program relies primarily on donations, in addition to government funding.

The Schleswig-Holstein Dental Mobile is a joint project sponsored by Diakonie Altholstein and the UKSH. While Diakonie Altholstein covers the personnel costs for the driver and the costs of mission coordination, the UKSH provides the dental and dental support staff as well as materials and instruments. It is also responsible for the purchase, conversion, and ongoing operation of the vehicle.
