Living at “Am Alten Kirchhof”
Right in the heart of downtown Neumünster, new housing is being built for people who want to live in a central location and manage their daily lives independently. Modern, affordable apartments, green spaces to relax in, and short distances to everyday amenities are combined with the option to receive support when needed.
The Location
The building is centrally located between Kieler Straße and the street “Am Alten Kirchhof.” Whether it’s shopping, public transportation, doctors, or church—everything you need for daily life is quickly and conveniently accessible. At the same time, the nearby Anscharpark and the landscaped courtyard offer space to relax. This allows you to enjoy city life without sacrificing relaxation.
Where existing buildings and garages once stood, a new residential building for the neighborhood is being constructed by 2025.
The Building at a Glance
- 27 apartments ranging from 42 to 85 m², with a total living area of approximately 1,430 m²
- Three-story building with an additional attic floor
- Arched walkways with small niches and a landscaped courtyard
- Social retail space (“Lieblingsstücke”) on the ground floor, approximately 100 m²
The Apartments
Whether you’re looking for a smaller apartment or more space to suit your needs:
- 10 apartments ranging from 42 to 49 m²
- 12 apartments ranging from 50 to 59 m²
- 3 apartments ranging from 63 to 67 m²
- 2 apartments around 85 m²
The spacious apartments with rooftop terraces offer additional open space and a beautiful view over the city’s rooftops.
All apartments are designed to be accessible and feature modern kitchens, heated floors, and bright rooms. Convenient storage rooms on the ground floor, as well as charging stations for e-bikes or walkers, provide added convenience.
Subsidized and privately financed apartments
Approximately 1,000 m² is allocated to 19 subsidized apartments for one to two people under the first subsidy program, the “PluSWohnen, Level 1” component of the State of Schleswig-Holstein’s Social Housing Subsidy Program. In addition, there are approximately 430 m² of privately financed apartments.
A housing eligibility certificate is required for some of the apartments, while others can be occupied without one. This way, the building offers options for every life situation.
Safety and Services
Your own home is a place where you feel safe and well cared for. Secure access to the building and supplementary services such as an in-home emergency call system reinforce this feeling.
Those who need support in their daily lives can take advantage of additional services as needed, such as a meal delivery service or personalized care services provided by Diakonie Altholstein. The freedom of living in one’s own home is preserved.
Community and Social Interaction
Sometimes a quick chat on the way to your apartment is all it takes to turn neighbors into familiar faces. The courtyard and covered walkways provide opportunities for conversation and community.
The social space on the ground floor—the “Lieblingsstücke” shop—creates a space for encounters and shared activities: gathering spots, group activities, and social interaction. There’s also room for family celebrations and other events.
This creates a place where people come together and make connections, in a completely casual way and however suits each person.
Conclusion
Short distances, community, modern apartments, green retreats, and support when needed: all of this comes together in our “Wohnen Am Alten Kirchhof.” MY HOME – MY SERVICE.
